⚠️ Fluency in English is required.
As a Software Engineer in Test (SDET), you join the Platform team, which builds and operates the shared foundations powering all Sogelink products across France, the Netherlands, and Norway.
This is not a test execution role. It is a platform engineering role, focused on designing, building, and owning quality at scale for mission-critical cloud services (authentication, identity, geospatial platform, and core capabilities).
You will define how quality is engineered across the platform: from API testing strategy to performance, tooling, and CI/CD integration.
About the Platform team
The Platform team provides the technical backbone used by all Sogelink products. We focus on scalability, reliability, and security, enabling product teams to build faster and with confidence.
We operate in a cloud-native, microservices environment, in close collaboration with CloudOps, backend engineers, and architects.
What you will do
Today, most testing practices are focused on end-to-end validation. As our platform grows, this approach is no longer sufficient.
This role is created to build a strong API testing capability from the ground up.
You will drive the shift toward an API-first testing model, enabling faster, more reliable, and scalable validation of our platform services.
Strategy & transformation
Define and drive an API-first testing strategy at platform level
Establish testing standards and best practices for API testing across internal platform consumers
Lead the shift from end-to-end validation to scalable API-based testing approaches
Engineering & delivery
Build robust automated API test suites for Spring Boot microservices
Implement performance and load testing at scale (k6, Gatling, JMeter…)
Integrate quality gates into GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Platform enablement & collaboration
Design and improve test environments, tooling, and test data strategies
Strengthen observability and quality signals with CloudOps
Partner with developers to embed quality early in the delivery lifecycle
Drive engineering best practices across teams (testing, reliability, automation)
Who you are
You have 4–5+ years of experience as SDET, QA Engineer, or Backend Engineer with a strong testing focus
You bring solid experience in API testing (design, automation, strategy) and understand how to validate distributed systems beyond UI-based testing
You have contributed to or led testing strategy initiatives, ideally moving toward API-first approaches
You are comfortable building from scratch: defining scope, tools, test data, and quality gates
You have hands-on experience with API testing frameworks (REST Assured, Karate, Postman/Newman…)
You are familiar with performance testing tools (k6, Gatling, JMeter…)
You can code in Java or Python and work confidently in CI/CD environments
You have a strong engineering mindset: you challenge the status quo and drive pragmatic improvements
You are autonomous, structured, and able to influence teams without formal authority
